FAROE ISLANDS GO DIRECT: ATLANTIC AIRWAYS LAUNCHES NEW NONSTOP FLIGHTS FROM LONDON GATWICK TO THE FAROE ISLANDS

Published on 17th January 2024

TÓRSHAVN, Faroe Islands (January 16, 2024) – This summer, Atlantic Airways will
launch the first-ever nonstop service between London Gatwick Airport (LGW) and Vagar
Airport (FAE) in the Faroe Islands. Twice-weekly flights will operate every Tuesday and
Saturday from June 1 through August 31, 2024.

The new route gives Londoners a convenient way to reach the North Atlantic
archipelago located halfway between Iceland and Norway. The flights will be operated
by a modern Airbus A320 aircraft and make the trip in just over two hours.
"We are thrilled to add London as our second destination in the UK," said Atlantic
Airways CEO Jóhanna á Bergi. "This new nonstop service makes visiting our beautiful
islands quicker and easier than ever for UK travelers."

Until now, reaching the Faroe Islands from London required taking at least two flights
and stopping in cities like Copenhagen or Edinburgh. Atlantic Airways already operates
direct flights between the Faroe Islands and Edinburgh.

Known for dramatic landscapes, grass-roofed villages, and abundant wildlife, the Faroe
Islands have recently attracted more tourists following their starring role in the James
Bond film No Time to Die. The new flights make it simpler for Londoners to experience
top attractions like Múlafossur Waterfall, Trælanípan rock formation, and the sea clifs
at Vestmanna.

Flights are available to book now at www.atlanticairways.com and through travel
agents. Fares start from £120 one-way including taxes and fees.
